Description
Koenigs-Tiger or Tiger II. Weighing 68 tons, this was the heaviest and most technologically advanced tank to see action in WW2.
The armour was so effective that no Allied anti-tank weapon could pentetrate the armour - most were destroyed by their own crews after they ran out of fuel - trust the Nazis to field a vehicle that drank so much fuel at a time when there was so little to be had. Sturmbannfuhrer Jochem Peiper, who had command of the kampfgruppe dedicated to the attack through the Ardennes in December 1944 was told he would have only 3 'fills' available to him - he would have to capture enemy fuel to accomplish his mission!
We decided to burn it instead, thus halting this tank's advance here at La Gleize, Belgium.

This is one of my favorite tanks of WW2.
