that is so good! How'd you get it so sharp? Do you use Corel Painter and start high-res with these?

Shoot RAW(NEF) and process in Photoshop 10 (CS3), in-camera sharpening turned off - all sharpening done in CS3...

*By the way, I could be wrong about it being hard on the nervous system... because that soldier there would had been wearing a gas mask since he's in close range of it...

either way, what is it?

Could you tell me exactly what the red smoke is? I'm assuming it's not pleasant, considering it's being used to flush people out of their homes......

what kind of damage would that do to the nervous system? I'm oh so very curious to know what the military is using these days.

The red smoke is just that - red smoke - it is used to mark the positions of friendly troops to attack helicopters, thus ensuring that friendly troops are not fired upon by mistake.
We don't use chemical means to 'flush people from their homes' as you put it. We don't use anything to flush people from their homes.

We do use all kinds of other things to flush terrorists and insurgents from other people's homes though...

Amazing how always succeed in giving an artistic edge
to all those shots you take in the middle of the heath.
Guess it's the best way to become a good photographer,
going purely on instinct and make sure you don't miss oportunities

Love this, especially the text on the wall. Really adds to the motion. The only thing I think that could improve it slightly is a crop. There's a bit poking out of the bottom of this picture.
