New Kit

It's always a joy to get new equipment - all the more so if you don't actually have to pay for it...
Last week I took delivery of two Nikon D3x bodies and a new suite of lenses...I've only been able to play with them briefly so far, but I like what I see...
Thankfully the 24Mp chip can be programmed to deliver a lossless compressed RAW file as well as uncompressed, so the file-sizes aren't too unwieldy and I can get up to 400 RAW/NEF files on the two 8Gb cards in each camera...useful - means I no longer have to carry an image-tank portable hard drive around with me...

More test shots coming soon...


And I've just heard that due to a budget underspend I'll be getting a pair of D3 bodies as well, so I can choose which to take on a particular job...
